Who is this course for?

The workshop is intended for computational engineers and designers who wish to move beyond standard analytical formulas (Design by Formula) and implement numerical methods in the design process.

Who are the participants?

  • FEM (CAE) engineers who wish to correctly interpret stress analysis results in accordance with the PN-EN 13445-3 standard

  • Designers of pressure equipment seeking methods to evaluate non-standard structures that are difficult to calculate using simplified methods

  • Analysis specialists who need to understand the differences between the direct approach (Annex B) and the stress categorization method (Annex C)

  • Inspectors and documentation reviewers who want to competently evaluate calculation reports based on the finite element method

Training programs

We don’t impose a rigid schedule. We believe that the most effective learning comes from real-world examples that your team faces every day. That’s why we tailor the scope of each training session to your specific needs, the nature of your industry, and the participants’ skill levels.

List of sample modules

The DBA Method According to Appendix C – Stress Categorization

  • Stress classification according to the membrane theory of shells.
  • Stress linearization in solid models (linearization paths).
  • Strength analysis: primary, secondary, and peak stresses.
  • Practical computational exercises using a 3D model.

The DBA Method According to Appendix B – The Direct Approach

  • Differences between the classical approach and the direct route.
  • Limit state analysis: ultimate load capacity, adaptability, loss of stability.
  • Material models in nonlinear analysis (elastic-ideally plastic, with reinforcement).
  • Determination of safety factors.

Advanced assessment procedures – GPD, PD, I, F

  • GPD: Gross Plastic Deformation Analysis.
  • I: Stability Analysis (Instability) – local and global buckling.
  • PD: Progressive Plastic Deformation – cyclic loading.
  • F: Fatigue Analysis according to Chapter 18 of the standard.

Hands-on workshop using a computational model

  • Development of a correct FEM model (meshing, boundary conditions).
  • Definition of load combinations in accordance with the standard.
  • Conducting a full calculation process for the selected device.
  • Comparison of results obtained using the methods described in Appendices B and C.

Do you need training using your own models?

We can conduct workshops directly on your design files, addressing your team’s current engineering challenges.

Why should you take the CIM-mes training course?

  • Practical application instead of dry theory
We don’t just go through the standard slide by slide. We teach how to translate the provisions of Annexes B and C into specific computational models in an FEM environment, while discussing real-world engineering problems

  • Two Approaches in One Training Course
We are one of the few providers to cover in detail both the traditional stress categorization method (Appendix C) and the modern direct method (Appendix B), highlighting their differences and areas of application

  • Learn from the experts
The training is led by engineers with many years of experience in strength analysis of pressure vessels, who use the DBA method on a daily basis in commercial projects

  • Post-training support
We don’t leave you on your own after the course ends—we provide technical consultations to help you apply what you’ve learned in your daily work

  • Certificate of Competence
Upon completion of the course, you will receive a personalized certificate confirming your proficiency in advanced strength assessment procedures in accordance with the PN-EN 13445-3 standard

I expanded my knowledge during the training. Participating in the training will help me in my work. The training materials will be useful in analyzing the cases I encounter at work. The trainers were well-prepared in terms of subject matter. We received answers to the questions we asked. The training content was presented in a clear and accessible manner. The trainer engaged with the participants and encouraged them to ask questions. I will definitely recommend this training to my colleagues and employees of the companies I work with.
