Manufacturing of non-axisymmetric Lightswords optical structure within required margins of accuracy and roughness demands for technology different from those used for axisymmetric lens. To proceed, the multi-axis milling, laser lithography, thick galvanisation and forming technology for polymers allowed to develop relevant technology. That allowed to manufacture the LightSWORDS optic structure being know theoretically for last decade.
CIM-mes is developing active laser protective curtain. The curtain is equipped with a sensor which can detect the laser illumination and turn off the laser. The ultra-fast sensor is based on planar waveguide phenomenon. The curtain will provide protection for high power laser (up to 16 kW) processing areas.
CIM-mes together with SKA-Polska (coordinator) developed a new type of holographic goggles called "Holographic Wearable Display for Manual Assembly Support" funded by the European Space Agency (ESA). The main distinguishing feature of this solution in relation to existing products (e.g. Microsoft HoloLens) is the fully three-dimensional imaging using Spatial Light Modulator (SLM).
The aim of the project is to optimise the production of the MCFC fuel cells in order to extend the life and improve performance. In particular to improve power density (power per unit area / volume / weight of the cell). Significant reduction of investment costs will be achieved by applying the offset technology for the production of each layer of the cells as well as to the application of alternative catalyst systems on the fuel cell layers.
Construction sector is looking for new solutions, which would enhance the heat flow through the building wall. The holistic approach to heat transfer modelling through the building façade points, that the climbing plant installed on the wall could improve the building energy balance. CIM-mes Projekt investigates the quantitative impact of the climbing plant placed on the façade. The research covers simulations and validation of mathematical model in the laboratory environment. The objective of the research is to identify the energetic and economic performance of green façade during full season across different climate zones.
