The FEA simulation of the autoclave closure system was carried out in accordance with the Design by Analysis (DBA) approach. The DBA-DR approach is included as normative Annex B and C in the harmonized standard EN 13445-3 and implies a presumption of conformity with the relevant Essential Safety Requirements (ESR) of Annex I to the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED).
